We did it on May when, against all odds, with a quite irreverent rock piece, the Italian rock band Måneskin won the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and the protests of France were of little use when, ironically, also at the cinema’s Festival of Cannes, the prestigious Palme d’Honneur is assigned to the Italian Marco Bellocchio.

We went on to do it in sports, breaking records and bringing the largest group of athletes in history to the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

We did it again last night, in London, winning the most coveted European football title, despite no one counting us among the favorites.

Because we Italians are like this: when things get rough, when the situation is desperate, when our country is in the eye of the storm, we give our best.
